The following clubs/activities have been offered by the school in the past. They are indicative of what is likely to be on offer in the future. These activities are offered without charge to the appropriate age groups (usually KS2 children)

We have introduced French into the curriculumfor all pupils. This has proven to be very successful with many of our younger pupils being able to pick up the language quite easily.

Y6 children have spent a week on a PGL Adventure week (parental payment).
Pupils from years 4,5 and 6 have visited London to see the Tutankhamen exhibition, the Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory. (Parental payment and P.T.F.A. contribution).

All of key stage 2 have attended workshops at Manchester University to support writing based upon a sea theme. (parental payment).

The whole school attended the pantomime at Christmas. (parental payment).
All pupils are involved in Christmas performances for parents.

Pupils from reception, years 1, 2 and 3 have visited Skipton Castle as part of our work on Knights and Castles. (parental payment and P.T.F.A. contribution).
Music tuition can be offered to children of Y4, Y5 and Y6 for a variety of instruments via the Rochdale Music Service. This tuition is held outside session times and the cost (about £3.00 per lesson) is met by parents. Details of the scheme are available from school.

A termly programme for string tuition was delivered to year 4. (Free)
The pupils elect house captains and vice captains (8 boys and 8 girls) for their houses (Oaks, Lions, Dolphins and Eagles).

In addition we have a School Council – 2 pupils from each non reception class are elected by their class mates to meet under the guidance of Mrs Brenchley.
An Eco Committee has also been set up and has parent, pupil, staff and governor representation.

School takes part in all interschool competitions (football/cricket/netball/rounders/swimming/x country) and has an impressive success rate over many years in these sports.
